Marek Kozák Continues to Shine on Stage at Sudetendeutsches Haus, Munich

Marek Kozák, finalist of the 2024 Classic Piano International Competition, has announced his first performance of 2025 at Sudetendeutsches Haus in Munich.

The cultural life of Prague in the 1920s symbolized, in many ways, a microcosm of the world. Marked by tolerance for diverse opinions and the assimilation of foreign influences, it produced enduring achievements that transcended their time—accomplishments that must be preserved from our collective forgetfulness.

This event traces the works of prominent writers and composers from that era, intertwining their music and texts. The Prague-born composer Vítězslava Kaprálová (1915–1940) died tragically during an evacuation from the Nazis in southern France; German-Jewish composers Erwin Schulhoff (1894–1942) and Viktor Ullmann (1898–1944) perished in the concentration camps of Wülzburg (Middle Franconia) and Auschwitz, respectively.

On the 6th of February pianist Marek Kozák will perform pieces by Kaprálová, Schulhoff, Ullmann, and others. Helmut Becker will read biographical and literary texts from exile and Theresienstadt. Entrance – free.
