Malta Welcomes 40+ International Stars for Upcoming 2021 InClassica Festival

2021 sounding better already!

A Month of Breathtaking Events

If you thought that all these acts sound like a lot, that's because they are, in fact this will be the largest classical music festival to ever take place in Malta!

It'll also be the first major cultural event to take place in 2021, organised by the European Foundation for Support of Culture (EUFSC) and the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO).

The EUFSC is a Maltese non-profit that promotes cultural & educational projects in Europe.

The event is by Konstantin Ishkhanov, president of the EUFSC - who said the following:
“The EUFSC is thrilled to be able to offer three weeks of outstanding music-making from some of the world’s finest musicians. Malta's setting couldn’t be more beautiful, and visitors are guaranteed a cultural experience that's unique to this enchanting Mediterranean island.”

6-Figure Performances

InClassica will take place at the Mediterranean Conference Centre (MCC) in Valletta with performances by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and Malta Youth Orchestra, as well as six international orchestras and featuring famous soloists every single night

Considering the fact that most of you haven't been to a concert in a while, this event could be the perfect opportunity to get back into the rhythm of live music! (or just sit back and relax after what we can all agree has been a pretty intense year…!)

Also, in addition to 25 exciting evenings, InClassica will feature the final round of their International Piano Competition, where 70 young and upcoming pianists will compete head-to-head for a whopping €300,000 in total prize funds, with a first place prize of €200,000!

Yes, two hundred thousand, you read that right

Soloists scheduled to appear in the festival represent some of the biggest names in classical music, including:

• Triple Grammy Award winner, pianist Martha Argerich;
• Co-leader of the London Symphony Orchestra, violinist Carmine Lauri;
• Legendary pianist Grigory Sokolov;
• Emmy and ECHO Klassik Award, Orphee d’or winner, soprano Danielle De Niese;
• 7 times ECHO Klassik Award winner violinist Daniel Hope;
• Leader of the London Symphony Orchestra, violinist Roman Simovic;
• Grammy Award, twice Gramophone Classical Music Award, Classic Brit Award and 5 times Edison Classical Music Award winner Maxim Vengerov;

...and many more!

25 Days Of Awe-Inspiring Performances

Trust us, InClassica will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the best performers from the world of classical music all from the comfort of Valletta!

It'll be a unique and breath-taking festival, featuring performances of the most exciting and beautiful classical pieces from Beethoven to Rachmaninoff, alongside modern pieces too.

In fact, InClassica even boasts a Composer-In-Residence! Alexey Shor — a composer (and ground-breaking mathematician!) who now splits his time between New York and Malta (cool huh?) He has performances of his works programmed throughout the festival, bringing a flavour of Neo-classicism and Neo-romanticism to InClassica’s varied repertoire. Shor’s music was even featured at the 40th Gramophone Classical Music Awards in London!

But wait, there’s more....

For the musicians amongst you, there’s also the Malta Classical Music Academy — a three week event featuring masterclasses, lectures and open lessons with some of the most renowned professors from around the world.

Courses are available for piano, cello, violin, clarinet, saxophone and flute
