Classic Piano International Competition Announces Global Preliminary Contests for 2027
Ahead of its landmark fourth edition in Barcelona, the Classic Piano International Competition will present an extensive series of international Preliminary Contests throughout 2027, expanding the competition’s global reach and creating a truly international pathway to the Grand Finale.
Held across six major musical capitals, the preliminary contests will bring Classic Piano directly to outstanding young pianists around the world, identifying the most exceptional emerging talents from across Europe, Asia, and North America.

Each preliminary event will serve as a qualifying stage for the Classic Piano International Competition 2028, with the top two pianists from every city advancing to the Grand Finale in Barcelona.
The finalists will then compete at the renowned Palau de la Música Catalana, performing alongside the Franz Schubert Philharmonic before a distinguished 23-member international jury comprising conductors, artist managers, agents, and leading figures from the global music industry.
By introducing a worldwide system of preliminary competitions, Classic Piano 2028 further strengthens its mission to support and elevate the next generation of concert pianists, while establishing its most ambitious and internationally connected edition to date.
